TATA Punch: design

Tata has stayed faithful to the concept of HBX it debuted at the 2020 Auto Expo. In terms of styling, only a single image has been shown in a recent update. Tata’s SUV design language is quite evident, where a similar split-headlight setup has been carried from Safari and Harrier. The ‘Humanity line’ helps the micro-SUV to look larger in terms of size.

Some of the major aspects like the front bumper, body cladding and chunky off-road tyres have taken off from the HBX Concept car, however, other details like the squared wheel arches and upright stance are present. The front bumper of the Punch features Tata’s ‘Y’ design language and also houses a pair of fog lamps. Additionally, the punch will get 16-inch Alloy Wheels as well as dual-tone treatment on the Exterior paint options. which gives a flooring roof effect. We have to wait for some more weeks for the micro-SUV’s rear design, Hopefully, they might reveal it before the launch.

TATA Punch: interior looks similar to HBX Concept

While the front exterior has been revealed, the Interior may take some more time to get revealed. Tata Punch is expected to spot a toned-down version of the concept’s interior. It is practically proven by the spy shots of the Punch’s cabin that specified to be small, the Dashboard layout looks identical to that of the concept, with its 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, square air-con vents. However, the compass beside the touchscreen and gold highlights will not be taken into production.

Power for Micro-SUV will get from a choice of two petrol engines. Lower trims were expected to get a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine which has been shared with the Tiago. Altroz and Tigor which makes 86hp. The higher trim is expected to get the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine options seen in the Altroz iTurbo. Gearbox choices for the Punch are expected to include both, a 5-speed manual and an AMT automatic option. The exact power outputs for both the engines will be known closer to the SUVs launch.
